Calculating required size of container, pod or storage unit (in square footage) relative to square footage of a home, apt. or office.

FOR CONTAINERS AND PODS DIVIDE THE SQUARE FOOTAGE OF THE DWELLING BY 6.25

NOTE: this factor assumes that the container or pod is

8 ½’ wide and 8 ½’ tall

EXAMPLE:

2000 SQUARE FEET divided by 6.25 = 320.0 square feet

8 ½’ X 40’ container or pod = 340.0 square feet

Container/Pod Square Footage:

16’ x 8 ½’ = 136

18’ x 8 ½’ = 153

20’ x 8 ½’ = 170

26’ x 8 ½’ = 221

30’ x 8 ½’ = 255

40’ x 8 ½’ = 340

FOR STORAGE UNITS DIVIDE THE SQUARE FOOTAGE OF THE DWELLING BY 7.0

Storage Unit Standard Sizes:

10’ x 10’ = 100

10’ x 15’ = 150

10’ x 20’ = 200

10’ x 25’ = 250

12’ x 24’ = 288

Suggest the unit closest in size when calculated. 800 square foot apartment = 114  select 10’ x 10’ unit.
